To Kevin On Father’s Day.

You are the type of father who will only wait 4 days before introducing your newborn son to your favorite movie.

You are the type of father who will teach Thomas that naps are awesome.

You are the type of dad who will push (Bumbo) limits when mom isn’t looking.

You are the type of dad who will read books with great storytelling abilities.

You will teach Thomas how to veg.

You are the type of father who will put a baby in a backpack to help you pull weeds.

You are the type of dad who may, accidentally, send our child to school without pants.

And you are the kind of dad who can’t wait to feed your baby “real” food.  The “real” in the case being rice cereal.

You are the kind of dad who will check on Tom five times when I ask you to make sure he is breathing.  You will sleep on the couch when he falls asleep in his swing so that he will not be alone.  You will call to check in on us to see how his afternoon went.  You will take him places that I am too scared to take him.  You will paint his nursery.  You will cut off the tags on all his baby socks.  You will do everything you can to make him laugh.

You are a wonderful, wonderful father and Tom is so lucky to have you as his dad.  And I am so lucky to be able to watch you (and laugh at you) through it all.

Happy Father’s Day!

We love you,
Me, Tom and Huck.
