I have a BFA in telecommunications. My husband’s undergrad degree is in public relations. I’m telling you this because I want to convey something right off the bat.
We are talkers.
So when Tom was attending school, it came as no surprise to me when the teacher mentioned that while all the other babies were napping, Tom was babbling away to the teachers non-stop for about an hour.
She asked, “Which one of you is a talker?”
And I answered, “Yes.”
But now this itty bitty teeney tiny baby boy is actually talking!
(And I am totally taking all the credit.)
His enormous vocabulary includes: Book, Ball, Truck, Mama, Duck, Doggie, Bottle and More.
He is working on Daddy and Water.
He understands so much too — it is really amazing.
Yes, I said it.
It is AMAZING that he understands what an elephant is. He knows his teeth!
Every time he understands a new word or says a new word, I squeal and giggle so much I think it scares him.
Picturing myself doing that scares me.
But it’s like some kind of mommy rush when he says a new word.
I think he is the smartest boy in the world.
My child says Ball.
So there.
From one talker to another, it is SO nice when they finally start talking back to you! Even if it is just “Ball truck duck.” 🙂
Look at those eyes! I’d listen to anything he said.
