Big Haircut.

I took Tom to get his first haircut yesterday.

I’d been putting it off for weeks.

(An entire month if we’re being honest.)

His hair was falling in his eyes, and more than once I thought, “I need a barrette!”

Which I’m told is slightly inappropriate for boys.

The back of Tom’s hair has always curled up into the cutest curls you’ve ever seen. To say I love them is an understatement. I lovelovelove them.

But lately, his hair had gotten so long in the back the curls were falling out so it was starting to look like the beginnings of a rat tail.

Which I’m told is slightly inappropriate for human-kind.

So. I took him to get his hair cut.

The place was great and Tom did amazing!

He sat in his firetruck chair, ate his animal crackers and watched Barney — while the stylist cut off his beloved curls.

It was hard. (For me.)

But in the end, Tom can see, and he’s not redneck-looking — two goals I’ve had for him since birth.

Go me.

He got a little concerned toward the end, but recovered quickly!

And here’s what he looks like now!

Kev said his curls would grow back. I’m holding him to it!

Handsome boy!

Oh my gosh! This made me a little misty. Did you cry?
He looks so much older now!! (My Thomas still looks older every time he gets his hair cut.)

  2. Robyn says:

I love the haircut! He looks handsome.

  3. So handsome! His hair does look like the curls could grow back, look how it has some wave to it. Plus when you consider putting a barrette in your little boy’s hair, it is definitely time for a haircut! 🙂
