Bits: Yellow River Game Ranch Edition.

This weekend was beautiful, sunny, cool, breezy and PERFECT!

We had a wonderful time.

But the best part? I got to be an honorary sister.

My friend Robyn’s two sisters (who I already loved via blogs) were in town with their kiddos to visit her. And I made them let me tag along.

And they are sweet and nice and wonderful so they — of course — let me.

Tom and I joined them on Saturday afternoon at the Yellow River Game Ranch — which is about 45 minutes from us and totally awesome!

We’d never been there before, so it was a new experience and one we’d love to do again.

It’s basically a place where they have animals that you can feed. Deer and chickens are just running all around and you can feed the other animals either through the fencing or through a tube (if the animal is a biter.)

Tom loved it because it’s in the woods and he just ran like a maniac down the trail for about a mile.

I loved it because he slept for a really long time that night.

And I loved it because I got to spend time with Robyn, her sisters and their sweet kids. It was great.

Here’s how it looked…

Checking on his bear-feeding skills.

He was JUST as excited to see this truck. He touched the wheels. And tried to climb it.

Peeking at the donkey. Right after this he decided to climb over the log and go right up to it. Rule breaker!

Gross pigs. I only like cute, pink, baby ones.

Kissing a sheep.

Holding court with the sheep.

Running down the trail with Justin and Emma.

Tom letting a bunny eat his shoes.

Tom liked to shove the carrots into the bunnies mouths. It was very “You’ll eat it and you’ll like it!”

He LOVED the bunnies! I did too because the area was enclosed, so I was able to catch my breath after all that running.

Tom loved Emma almost as much as he loved her pants. She was super sweet and made sure he had food for the animals at all times.

Hope y’all have a good week! LOVE.

I haven’t even put my pictures from the weekend on the computer yet, but I think it’s safe to say that none of my pictures is going to be as good as yours. Every time I pulled out my camera, a child ran into the picture and I got the back of someone’s head. Up close. You got some really nice pictures. It was great to see you!

Oh, see the key is to have your child run VERY, VERY FAST and VERY, VERY far away from everyone you’re supposed to be visiting with. THEN you get good photos. 🙂 It was wonderful seeing you guys! We had the best time! Let me know when y’all come up again so we can crash your sister time…again.

Looks like fun!! Great shirt on Tom, btw. 🙂
I’m hoping this is only the first of three or four blogs I’ll get to read about the weekend. (AHEM! MelanieRobynRebecca!)

Let me know any time you want to go back… I love that place! The bunny area is my favorite too.

Oh and, Jen — I did my part!

Tom looks so tall, running down the trail. Regarding Tom’s shirt – it’s cute, but I don’t understand who Ferris is (“Save Ferris”). Love your blogs.

I am so glad Tom liked it – I cannot wait to take Maxine. I think she would love the bear.

It was so nice to finally meet you! Please do hang out with us again when we are together. Tom is so, so cute. I’m not surprised that he slept well!
