This weekend my sister, Rachel, threw me the most fabulous book-themed baby shower and some of my favorite people on earth were there to make me feel very loved.
I am a lucky, lucky girl.
And my baby girl is a lucky girl because thanks to them, she will now have super cute, fashionable clothing, diapers and books to help her settle in to the world outside the womb.
I cannot say enough about how incredibly lucky I feel to have such wonderful people in my life.
My sister did an amazing job putting this shower together.
Even though she’s younger, I want to be just like her when I grow up.
Here’s how it looked!
Book-themed baby shower! I made Rachel give this to me. I’m not giving it back.
The food table! Complete with book-themed signage for the food items. Too cute!
My sister’s friend from high school, Sara (of Totally Sweet Cakes), made this cake. No, really. And actually, I say she’s my friend too — even though I haven’t talked to her in real life since she was 8 years old or something. Doesn’t matter! We’re friends and I love her for making this cake! I mean, she *drew* that whole Alice in Wonderland scene on top of the cake! Amazing, right? And it was good, too! She’s a totally great friend for making this and it was a HUGE hit. And still is with me, because I had some for breakfast this morning.
My mom made the Green (deviled) Eggs and Ham (biscuits) to go with the theme!
Fruits from The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
The crafting table! Rachel likes to put our friends to work at baby showers. And it was awesome.
My friend, Sabrina, and mother-in-law, Jody, working on making pages for an ABC book for baby girl!
Didn’t our friends do a great job?! Seriously! You can tell these aren’t the pages I did because — yeah. I can’t draw.
A cute book game where everyone had to figure out the title of the children’s book from clues such as “Evening Salutations to the Celestial Orb.” Do you know it?
My friends working on their quiz!
Robyn was the big winner on the game! One of my friends said Robyn’s past work at a library was an unfair advantage. Ha!
My friends all pitched in (their fingerprints) to make an amazing piece of art for baby girl’s room!
The finished art! Beautiful, right? I LOVE it so much, I can’t even tell you.
My sister made bookplates and included them in the invitations, so everyone brought a book for baby girl’s library and we’ll always know who they’re from!
My little lemonade-stealing love.
Angela partying with my nephew, Gus!
My niece, Matilda, enjoying the yummy cake!
I think baby girl clothes are hysterically awesome.
I had a wonderful time and I’m so happy some of my favorite friends and family could be there to celebrate “the next chapter” in our lives!
