Parent Practice.

Two of my dear friends are expecting their first baby (a boy!) in October.

I cannot tell you how excited I am for them.

This baby is a totally loved child already.

I am super stoked and cannot wait to meet him and see Lucas and Candice as parents.

You see, Lucas is one of my best friends in the whole, wide world.

We went to college together, we worked together, we lived together — we’re friends.

And when Lucas married Candice, I made her be friends with me too.

So when I say that I know this child will have wonderful parents — I’m telling you — I *know*!

You must take me seriously here.

Anyway, we invited them over to hang out with us Saturday night and they accepted because they are insane/goodfriends.

Also?

It was good practice for them!

And just like I thought — they were great.

Next weekend we’re just going to drop our kids off with them and go out on the town.

I haven’t told them yet, but I’m sure it’ll be no problem.

Cutest part of the weekend?

Tom calls them “Luke and Canda.”

Now I’m going to call them that.

I think “Luke” is scared of Tom here. In his defense, Tom is serious about lightsabers. He attacks.

Also? Usually I am Tom’s lightsaber-battle-partner. Once while they were here, Tom handed me a lightsaber. Then he immediately took it back and said, “Luke do it!” Fine, then!
