My baby girl is 6-months-old today.
I can’t believe it!
Time has flown with this child.
I remember when Tom turned 6-months-old and I thought, “Finally!”
This time I’m thinking, “What?”
Alice is delightful.
She is calm. She is laid-back. She is happy, smiling and laughing almost all the time.
She loves to talk, and coo and make her “baby bird” noise.
She likes to yell when things are not going her way.
She will give you a couple warning yells before she screams at you.
She’s sweet that way.
She will eat and chew and chomp on anything you put in front of her.
She doesn’t mind that I call her “Puff Baby.”
Sometimes 9-month sized pants don’t fit over her puffy feet.
(That’s okay, sweet girl! Puffy feet are so IN right now!)
She loves to sleep.
But she especially loves to sleep all curled up and warm next to one of her parents.
She lights up when her Daddy comes into the room.
She is personable and not at all afraid of strangers.
She’d rather be in the Baby Bjorn facing the world than cuddled up and reclined in her stroller.
She loves dogs. Especially her Huck.
(And he loves her.)
She and her brother already have a special bond that I just adore.
If she starts crying, Tom immediately gets worried and yells, “Mommy! Baby Awice crying!”
If she yells, he either imitates it or he says, “What you saying Baby Awice? I don’t understand you!”
Which, makes Alice stop yelling and she instead smiles at her big brother.
She puts up with so much “love” from Tom.
She isn’t even afraid when Tom acts like he’s going to bop her on the head.
I always thought I would have two boys.
I never even really considered or imagined my life with a daughter.
And now I can’t imagine my life without one.
You make me so happy, baby Alice.
This family has been so happy these past 6 months, and we can’t wait to see how you continue to grow into the amazing, happy, smart, beautiful little girl that we know and love so much.
Happy Six Month Birthday!
I love you.
