This weekend we stayed at my parent’s lake house so we could go to the fair and visit with my friends and family.
It was awesome.
Here’s how it looked…
We toured the RVs they had on display. Tom immediately started jumping on a bed. He bopped his head on the ceiling. Hard. So he got the biggest bowl of ice cream I’ve ever seen and lived happily ever after. In other news, I’d like a RV.
Kevin schooling other visitors on how to feed a giraffe.
This is what happens when you take a carrot away from her to feed an animal. Don’t you feel terrible?!
As soon as Tom saw this ride, he wanted to get on it. He really wanted to ride in the purple car. Kev thought Tom would be fine on this ride on his own, and at first he was right…
And then he got scared, and his mama wasn’t with him, and he kept scooching down lower and lower until he just completely covered his face and CRIED!
(Way to go, Dad!)
So yeah, after that Tom would only get on rides that I could ride with him.
And since the train ride is just for kids, he didn’t get on it.
Not even the train!!
He’s got rumble-y car trauma.
We’re treating it with hugs.
Observing artwork. We’re cultured.
Alice finally met my bestest friend ever! Alice love Hillary. Cuteness.
Dylan is seriously awesome at driving this tractor. Tom seriously loved chasing it. It was seriously a good time.
Toward the end of our visit, Tom got brave enough to drive it. He started off by slamming into Hillary and Charlie’s house. And then there was a lot of Kevin and I trying to chase him down so he didn’t run over anyone. What I’m saying is…Santa needs to really think about this.
Tom loved playing with Dylan so much. They gave hugs when we left, and Tom cried when we had to leave. Those two boys together turned my heart to mush. It’s mush!
Next, Alice visited my grandmother. Sweetness.
My grandmother has a bucket of sand in her garage (of course) which the boys found immediately. Boys!
Tom aggressively coloring a pumpkin with Grandma.
This is a picture of Tom giving PawPaw a hug. Tom’s hugs are super fast.
Cool mornings at the lake house.
We had a wonderful, jam-packed, totally exhausting visit — but I’m so happy we were able to see so many people.
My favorite quote of the weekend was while Tom and I were on the dock at the end of the day.
Me: “You have to be quiet or you’ll scare the fish.”
Tom: “IT’S JUST ME, FISH! IT’S JUST TOM!”
Hope y’all have a good week! LOVE.
Sounds and looks like you had a fabulous time! Love the picture of Alice crying…so cute! Miss you!
This looks like so much fun. And that picture of Alice pouting is beyond precious.
