This weekend we headed up to North Carolina to visit my aunt and uncle and ride the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch train.
It was wonderful.
As I was getting everything packed and ready on Friday while trying to keep the kids busy I remember thinking, ‘This is not worth it.’
But it was.
It really, really was!
Here’s how it looked…
While on the train, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” was read over the speaker. And then when we got there, Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Lucy were there to greet us and they had so much stuff to do.
(Me: “Do you want to get your picture taken with Charlie Brown?” Tom: “No…I wanna get a pumpkin!”)
It was really great.
We took it easy this time, and just picked a couple things to do.
Tom REALLY wanted to carry his own pumpkin. And I REALLY wish he could have. In case you were wondering, carrying a baby, a toddler, a stroller, a backpack, a diaper bag AND a big, gigantic pumpkin is super fun. True story.
It was a really wonderful weekend and we all had the best of times. Both kids slept SO GREAT this weekend, and *that* was pretty much the best thing EVER! Bill and Carolyn are wonderful hosts and fed us all weekend, and we’re so lucky they let us keep coming to harass them! I’m still dreaming about that fresh, fall, mountain air. LOVE!
You know what else?
My in-laws kept Huck for us this weekend, and then fed *us* when we stopped by on our way back home.
See how lucky we are?
Hope y’all have a great week! LOVE.
