Lunch! Cookie decorating! Cupcakes! Coloring! Games!
Tom’s school Christmas party was really great and he and all of his classmates were adorable.
And Daddy and Alice were able to come, too, and I’m pretty sure that was Tom’s favorite part.
(That and the cupcakes.)
And here’s some super secret advice from this room mom: Including lunch as part of the festivities takes up a good chunk of time. (Score!)
Super secret room mom confession: I only make cupcakes for every party because I know Tom doesn’t consider it a party unless they are there.
The kids were all really wonderful and well-behaved. I cannot believe they’re only 2!
Cookie decorating with this group was a huge hit.
I gave them each 2 Christmas tree cookies, green icing (powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, food coloring) with a paintbrush in a cup, and a few sprinkles in another cup and they immediately got to work.
After a few minutes, a few of them realized they could “paint” their tongues so that was what they spent the rest of the time doing.
Also, we played “Pin the Nose on the Snowman” but we didn’t blindfold them.
Which was good, because even without blindfolds, most of them put the nose on the snowman’s tummy. (Because they are imaginative…sure!)
The other room mom made goodie bags for all the kids and that was a huge hit, too!
And here’s the best part…
Tom gave me and Kevin gifts.
That he made in school.
They are wrapped and we haven’t opened them.
I am SO EXCITED.
I want to open them now!
Because I have a feeling they will be two of our favorite gifts.
It was a great day.
