Bits: Hometown Visit Edition.

I took the kids down to visit my parents and grandmother on Thursday by myself.

I think that’s the first time I’ve done it with both of them, considering I think putting them both to bed by myself at home (because Alice takes time) is rather difficult.

But I did it!

And it was a really great time!

The kids just loved seeing their Grandma and PawPaw and LaLa and all the toys they have at their houses.

And I was happy to see everyone too.

Even though it was a short visit (we came home Friday after lunch), I felt like we had some good quality time with everyone and that was the best part.

Here’s how it looked…

Somebody loves his PawPaw and by “loves” I mean “LOVES!”

Cutest muddy baby you ever did see.

On Saturday, I let Tom skip his nap.

Mom. Fail.

On Sunday, I made the kids try on their fall jackets because it’s super fun to have kids that will wear fall jackets that double as costumes and I wanted to go ahead and gush over them now.  Because you don’t just want to be warmer.  You want to be warmer and a SHARK!  Or warmer and a FLOWER!  Right?!  I know!

Pretty little flower.

This week we’ll be busy getting ready for Tom to start school next week!

We’ll have orientation and meet and greet and now that it’s here I wish it wasn’t!

I know Tom is looking forward to going back, and I’m looking forward to the structure it provides my week, but I’m gonna miss little dude on those three days!

(Don’t tell him I called him “little dude.”  If he heard that, he’d say, “No, mom!  I’m big and strong and have big muscles, see?!” and then he’d point his elbow at me to show me his ‘muscles’ and I’d be appropriately intimidated. The End.)

Hope y’all have a great week, my LOVES!

I can’t get over how cute Alice’s little faces are. So cute and full of personality! And I love the pic of Tom cuddling with PawPaw.
