You are 2 years old today!
That means that two years ago today, I discovered that I in fact *was* meant to have a beautiful baby girl.
And oh — how many times in the past two years have I thanked my lucky stars for being blessed with such a wonderful little girl.
You are so smart.
You are so beautiful.
You are kind. And thoughtful. And incredibly caring.
If ever I am upset, you will put your hand on my cheek and say, “Is okay Mommy.”
You love to give hugs to your friends.
You love to cuddle.
You love to take naps with me or your dad.
Yesterday, we laid down together for your nap, and you kept moving closer and closer until you finally put your head on the same little throw pillow I had my head on — staring at me right in the face.
And then you fell promptly to sleep like that.
I hope I remember that feeling forever.
You love to laugh. And to smile.
You love animals. And you love to give your “Huckles” a treat.
(We still have to worry about you eating it yourself. You have a weird love for dog food.)
You and Tom like to take all the cushions off the couch and jump on it over and over and over.
Tom is your best friend in the world. You want to (and mostly do) everything he does.
You love to color. And glue. And PAINT.
You would paint the world if you could.
You like to put your baby dolls in your stroller and take them for walks.
Whenever we go to a store without Tom, you always look for a car for us to get him.
You never look for anything for yourself.
(Exceptions being: clothes and dresses and sparkly shoes.)
You love it when we color together. Or put puzzles together.
You love to play tea party.
You love for your dad to swing you around the room.
You love to play hide and seek, but only if you’re with me.
You love chocolate.
Very rarely you will say, “I mad right now!”
You are really easy to make un-mad.
You wave to everyone and say “Hi” — unless we ask you to, and then you’ll hide.
You are fearless.
You love Mary Poppins.
Which makes sense, since you are practically perfect in every way.
You are the true definition of someone who is beautiful both inside and out.
And I am so, so, so thankful that you are mine.
You have taught me so much in these past two years.
You are good. Kind. And wonderful.
Everything everyone strives to be.
And you’ve already got it down.
I love you so very, very much.
Happy Birthday, baby girl!
