Jekyll Island.

Hey, guys!

We went to Jekyll Island the last week of May, and then it’s taken me a week to get back in the groove of things here at home — thus the absence.

But we had the most wonderful time at Jekyll, and I really think I spent last week mourning that it was over!

I love Jekyll.

It is really family-friendly (playground, bike paths, putt-putt) and it’s beaches are just…not crowded. Like…at all.

In addition to that, it has magnificent homes to tour in the “millonaire’s village” and the whole place has a Great Gatsby feel to it for me.

And the trees!  Oh, how I love the trees there.

But the absolute best part was being there with family.

My sister and her family shared a house with us.

My parents were there for most of the week.

And two aunts, an uncle and a cousin joined us for a weekend.

The. Best.

I’m going to break up the posts a bit, starting this one off with some of the beach shots.

And then I’m gonna look at our budget again and see if we can go back tomorrow.

As soon as we arrived, we immediately headed to the beach to check it out.

Hello, ocean!

Tom is our fish, so he was super excited for the trip.

Alice loved climbing the rocks/giving her mom a heart attack.

Gus loved the water, too!

And Alice loved smashing sand castles.

Tom having a BLAST.

I sort of love all photos of Daddy and little Alice.

Aunt Rachel and Alice.

The kids really loved the beach days.

Tom loved the ocean, and finding “dead animal skeletons” on the beach.

(Shrimp mostly.)

For real, y’all.

Alice loved climbing the rocks and the tide pools.

Building sand castles was a favorite for her (takes after her mom).

So fun!

More to come…

Have I ever mentioned that your kids are adorable and ridiculously photogenic? I have? Oh. (It’s still true.) I love the literature reference, especially since I just read that book this year. AND I love that you notice trees, because I do too, but I’ve always been a little worried that that’s weird. Now I know it’s not. 🙂

So glad you had a great time! The ocean/beach is always a fun vacation especially as this age! Love the picture of you and Alice! She is your mini me!!!
